How to use Frontline Plus for dogs

Frontline Plus for dogs keeps your dog happy and healthy by providing effective and long-lasting flea and tick protection, killing 100% of fleas within 12 hours of treatment. To administer Frontline Plus flea treatment to your dog, follow these steps:

STEP ONE

Let the puppy or dog stand in a comfortable position. Part the fur between the shoulder blades to make the skin visible.

STEP TWO

Invert the open pipette and place its tip onto the skin. Squeeze out the solution until the pipette is empty. Allow the area to be completely dry.

STEP THREE

For small and medium sized dogs, apply at one spot only. For larger dogs, apply at 4-5 spots across the backbone. It is also recommended for pregnant, lactating and breeding dogs.

Frontline Plus for dogs is made of two active components; fipronil and s-methoprene. Once applied, the formula gets spread on pet's body surface and gets stored in the sebacious glands, and fills up as and when needed and thus offers persistent protection throughout the month.

Fipronil works on the central nervous system of both fleas and ticks, causing them paralysis resulting in death. S-methoprene, on the other hand works as an insect growth regulator (IGR). Insect Growt Regulator (IGR) stops parasites from growing and prevents re-infestation.

My dogs still have fleas after treatment, is this because there are fleas still in the carpet/bedding? Do I need to treat those as well?

To treat the fleas you can’t see, wash all of your bedding, blankets, and pillows in very hot water. Steam clean other fibrous materials, particularly those in the living and bedrooms, since studies have shown the highest flea concentrations are usually in these areas.
